Summary:

When life gives you a blank canvas, make
art.

Sloane Whitaker hates everything about moving to Texas. She hates leaving
behind her friends and half her family in New York, starting over senior year
at Austin’s NextGen Academy, and having to say she lives in Texas. Most of all,
she hates that it’s all her fault. If she wants to earn her way back to the Big
Apple, she has to prove she can still be the perfect daughter.

Which means no vandalism art, no trouble at school, and absolutely no Tru
Dorsey, her serial screw-up neighbor, who loves nothing more than pushing her
buttons.

But from the moment he vaults onto the roof outside her bedroom, there is
something about him that makes her want to break every rule. Suddenly it’ s not
the ten things she hates about Tru that are at the top of her list. It’s the
ten reasons she doesn’t want to be without him.

Review:

Another great cute novel from Crush.
This one started off reminding me heavily of Ten Reasons Why I Hate You- which I adored btw- and then became something quite different. Much quirkier and more unique than I expected

I could easily give you ten things I love about Tru. I found Sloan quite annoying in the beginning. And I could have given you easily ten things I hated about her. I had quite a clear idea what would happen when I started it. But the story changes and there is a little twist- which I kinda expected but again didn't - and then I realised that I was at the end and all I wanted was more! More importantly I ended up loving Sloan
The plot while being cute and fluffy on one had, was surprising in many ways. The last twist and the resolve of the long built up mystery felt a bit rushed.
The end is kinda an open end. I really loved it. I cant wait to get my hands on the next book of the series!

The character building is what makes this awesome. I utterly loved Tru's POV, I adored him from the first and kept routing for him.
Sloan, well as I said, I found her annoying. I mean I got where she was coming from. But can you say spoilt brat? yeah exactly! And then things became clearer, her actions, her issues and I totally could relate. In fact I found myself thinking of being in a similar situation. Childs got the strained relations between daughter and parents perfect, in my opinion. Clearly seeing that sometimes both sides are just stuck and don't know how to move on. Each side trying to do somehow do what's right...
The relationship between Sloan and Tru- swoon-worthy but not in a huge bang kind of way. No much subtler and also more real and unique.

Then there is Childs descriptions of their art, them being lost in it. Absolutely beautiful and spot on! This was my first book by Childs, but I shall definitely read more. Her writing is incredible!

A must have release this autumn!
